The music program at Christ the King Catholic school runs from PP to year 10. Working in partnership with the Australian Children's Music Foundation (ACMF), the program aims to provide a platform for students to get involved in music. Students learn about different types of instrumentation and their unique timbres. In the early years there's a large emphasis on singing and using percussion, then in the later years students are given the chance to arrange and compose pieces of their own. Mr. David Ougham represents ACMF at the school and frequently works in small groups teaching guitar, bass and ukulele. Mr Matt Ryder coordinates the music program and teaches class music; covering theory, arranging and historical contexts.
