The first few weeks of Term
2 have been action packed full of exciting learning and community engagement
opportunities for all.
The ATA staff are developing their Culture Program, the first topic is called People and Kinship. This has seen our students busily discovering their family histories and stories which have been fascinating.
Grace Lewis and Jackie Williams have been assisting the ATA staff in gathering stories on Ipads which will be transcribed in language. Many of these stories are about the families and their lives which will be available for all to read both as books and as e-books. Miss Estelle, Miss Lala and Mr Vincent are currently editing the stories and our students have begun to illustrate the stories with their artwork.
This term also will see our Year 4 students and Year 6 students prepare for and receive the sacraments of Reconciliation and Confirmation. These are important and significant moments in the faith journey of our students and we hope all parents can attend these services.
As an ongoing part of our students’ faith development, a Class Mass for every Year level will see students prepare prayers of the faithful and participate in our beautiful Missa Kimberley led by Father Chris. To hear our students sing the Aboriginal Our Father is a both moving and joyous occasion.
